Debbie Sorensen, Ph.D.
Co-creator & Co-host
I am a clinical psychologist in Denver, Colorado. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Harvard University. I have a private practice, part of the ImpACT Psychology Colorado collective, and I work part-time at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, with veterans with spinal cord injuries and chronic health conditions. I am the VA’s nationally-recognized Rocky Mountain Regional Trainer in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have been a lecturer at Harvard University in the Department of Psychology, and am passionate about teaching and training mental health professionals in ACT and supervising psychology students.
I love living in Colorado, my home state, with my husband, two young daughters, and dog. When I’m not busy working or podcasting, I enjoy reading fiction, cooking, travel, and getting outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
